Choose a sunny spot with well-drained, fertile soil. Slightly acidic to neutral pH (5.5–7.0) is ideal.
3. Sowing Depth & Spacing:
Sow seeds ¼ inch deep. Space plants about 18–24 inches apart in rows 4–6 feet apart for best air circulation.
4. Watering:
Keep soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water at the base to avoid fungal issues.
5. Support:
Use stakes or a trellis to support canes as they grow tall and produce fruit.
6. Harvesting:
Expect two crops—first in early summer and again in fall. Pick berries when they are deep red and easily come off the stem.
7. Maintenance:
Cut back spent canes after fruiting to encourage new growth. Mulch in winter for root protection.
