The colors are a beautiful combination of light and dark browns (with a slight pinkish shade). The grain is tight and smoothly flowing. There is some gorgeous quilting and chatoyance on one face that appears to extend well into the block. This bowl blank has been air dried to 8 10% moisture content. The colors are a beautiful combination of light and dark browns (with a slight pinkish shade). The grain is tight and smoothly flowing. There is some gorgeous quilting and chatoyance on one face that appears to extend well into the block. This bowl blank has been air-dried to 8-10% moisture content. It was cut from close to the pith and does include a bit of pith-related cracking. We've stabilized this with clear CA glue. You will likely want to reapply CA glue while turning.
