Music that finds beauty in strange places.”-David Byrne, August 1990In time for the 30th anniversary of Brazil 5: Tom Zé -The Hips of Tradition - The Return of Tom Zé, we’re releasing two of Zé’s albums chock full of avant garde pop hits ready to be discovered and exalted by the mainstream. On both Brazil Classics 4: The Best of Tom Zé - Massive Hits, which comes in a limited Brazilian Blue gatefold edition, and The Hips of Tradition, which comes in a limited Amazon Green edition, here’s what you have in store: Household appliances and tools in arrangements with horns, strings, “prepared” guitars (punctuated by grunts, screams and other wild percussion), all melded with eccentric metaphorical lyricism. The result: sounds of “sambas and archangels / street and street riot,” sometimes hypnotic, sometimes dissonant and always a beautiful amalgamation of unusual noises, hysterical lyrics, and pop songs that remain an essential part of the Brazilian historical legacy of musical exploration.

Good Space Savings, but the Bag Zippers don't hold very well

I purchased these Vacbird travel vacuum bags mainly to save space in carry-on luggage and cruise packing, and the overall concept works well. The included rechargeable air pump is compact and convenient for travel, and the compression bags can significantly reduce the amount of space taken up by clothing and soft items when sealed properly. The bags themselves are easy to fill and compress, and they can definitely help organize luggage more efficiently for longer trips. For bulky clothing like jackets, sweatshirts, or extra layers, the space savings are noticeable. The rechargeable pump is also more convenient than manually rolling air out of the bags repeatedly. The reason this isn’t a higher rating is the zipper closure quality. The zippers feel much weaker than they should for a product designed around repeated compression and travel handling. Several closures required extra care to avoid separating or leaking air, which reduces confidence in long-term durability. The system works, but the zipper design feels like the weak point and keeps the product from feeling as reliable as it otherwise could be.
